Two Transitions, how that works

Picture
The Denver Triathlon has two separate transitions which is out of the ordinary for most triathlons. However this doesn’t have to make the race more challenging, rather it should make it more exciting! On Saturday June 9th all athletes will be asked to attend the Health and Fitness Expo at Sports Authority Field in order to check in and pick up their packets.

As part of the process, athletes need to bring their Running gear to check into T2 on SATURDAY. This includes any items you will need for the run once you dismount your bike at the stadium. Items like your race belt, running shoes, fresh socks, visor or hat, gels, water or other nutrition you wish to have between the bike and run. We recommend athletes place their items in a nylon shoe bag and attach the provided bib number tag before placing it in T2. Your race bib will have two pull tabs, one for your gear bag in T2 and one for your swim bag in T1. Both bags will need to be labeled. Further information on this will be provided in the athlete guide.

Looking at Transition 1, athletes will set up their swim to bike transition on race morning. Athletes will need a bag that includes the gear check tab for their swim gear in T1. After exiting the water, any swim gear that you would like returned to you at the finish line will need to be secured in your personal bag. Our staff will collect all the athlete bags and bring them to the finish line to be collected by the athletes. T1 bags will be redistributed to athletes via their bib numbers, please have your bib to present as proof of ownership.
